Modena – Brushed Grey Concealed Shower System

The brushed gray sets the tone before anything else. The round rain head, perched at the end of a short wall-mounted arm, captures muted light instead of reflecting it. No sharp glints, no clear reflections: the matte finish softens the metal and makes it blend into the large, dark stone wall. This built-in shower column emphasizes discretion rather than visual impact.

Three round controls are aligned mid-height on the wall, in the same shade as the shower head. A mixer, a diverter, an outlet for the hand shower. The metallic hose loops freely down the stone, the only moving element in the composition. Everything else is hidden behind the tiling: no exposed pipes, no vertical bar, no column in the literal sense of the word.

The ensemble interacts with a dark wooden wall to the left, a plant to the right, and a stone bench at the bottom. The brushed gray takes on the background hue and primarily catches variations in light. In this space, the shower ceases to be an object and becomes another material on the wall.

The rain head is available in three diameters: 20, 25, and 30 centimeters. The 20 cm remains contained, ideal for a narrow shower niche or above a compact tray. The 25 cm widely covers the head and shoulders, making it a versatile size. The 30 cm transforms the water outlet into an ample rain, reserved for walk-in showers deep enough to accommodate the reach of the wall arm.

Brushed gray is one of five finishes offered, alongside chrome, brushed gold, brushed rose gold, and matte black. Each reacts differently to light. Brushed gray remains neutral on dark and mineral backgrounds, brushed gold warms a bright room, brushed rose gold softens, chrome brings back shine, and matte black, on the contrary, creates a clear design on a pale wall. The choice is made less on taste than on the shade of the chosen tile.

A brushed gray built-in shower column for mineral bathrooms

This shower column was designed for rooms where the wall matters as much as the water. Natural stone, large format concrete effect, slate, anthracite tile. On these surfaces, chrome stands out; brushed gray, on the other hand, blends in with the background materials. The short arm and round head appear as a silhouette, not as a piece of faucetware.

The thermostatic mixer stabilizes the temperature as soon as it's turned on and maintains the setting throughout the shower. The separate diverter switches between the rain head and the hand shower without affecting the heat setting. This logic of three distinct controls is what distinguishes a true built-in shower column from a simple exposed set: the hand controls the gesture, not the mechanics.
