Taormina – Matt Black Concealed Shower System

The matte black stands out sharply against the beige plaster wall. The round rain shower head, suspended from a short wall-mounted arm, forms a dark disc with no reflection, like a graphic silhouette placed on a warm material. This recessed shower column draws all its strength from this contrast: a black drawing on a light mineral background.

Lower down, three round controls align at hand height. A short lever mixer, a diverter, an outlet for the hand shower. The black braided hose hangs in a free loop along the wall, the cylindrical hand shower attaches to the last plate. Everything goes behind the plaster: no visible tube, no vertical bar, no column in the literal sense.

Around it, the room is read in the same tone. An illuminated niche houses a vase and a few olive branches, a black towel rail exactly matches the finish of the faucet, a sand linen softens the whole. The matte black here behaves like a drawing line on a tadelakt background, never like a protruding object.

A recessed matte black shower column

The rain shower head is available in three diameters: 20, 25, and 30 centimeters. The 20 cm remains contained, ideal for a compact bathroom or above a narrow shower tray. The 25 cm largely covers the head and shoulders, it is the all-purpose size for a standard walk-in shower. The 30 cm transforms the water outlet into a wide rain, to be reserved for spaces deep enough to absorb the reach of the wall arm.

Matte black is one of the five finishes of the model, alongside chrome, brushed gold, brushed rose gold, and brushed gray. On a light wall, beige or off-white, matte black functions as an outline. On a dark background, it almost disappears and lets the material speak. It is the finish to choose when you want a legible design rather than a reflection, a clear graphic rather than a shine.

A matte black recessed shower column for warm bathrooms

This shower column was designed for rooms where the wall plays a real part: tadelakt, limewash plaster, terracotta, light wood, travertine. On these warm materials, chrome cools the scene; matte black, on the other hand, takes the place of an architectural detail. The short arm and the round disc almost become two drawn lines, halfway between plumbing and decorative object.

The thermostatic mixer stabilizes the temperature as soon as it is opened and maintains the setting throughout the time spent under the water. The separate diverter switches between the rain shower head and the hand shower without affecting the heat setting. This logic of three distinct controls is what distinguishes a true recessed shower column from a simple exposed set: each circle has its function, the hand remembers the gesture.
